Welcome to the website for Pembrokeshire Freewheelers CTC cycling club.
Pembrokeshire Pedallers, as it was originally known, was formed in April 1992, after a couple of meetings held at Haverfordwest Cricket Club.

The first ride was arranged for Sunday 26th April, starting from St. Thomas' Green. Mike Evans, then owner of Mike's Bikes, led the inaugural ride.

Although at one time rides only started in Haverfordwest or Neyland, the club now commences rides from various locations around the county, taking advantage of different members' local knowledge.

The club, having changed its name to Pembrokeshire Freewheelers in 1993, was always affiliated to the Cyclists Touring Club as a section of the Swansea District Association. Following structural reorganisation within the CTC, we are now classed as a Member Group of the CTC itself.

From humble beginnings, with only six members, we have continued to grow and now have an active membership of around forty, with additional social members.

Occasionally, we meet up with other Member Groups for rides and also try and organise rides further afield. In the past we have had weekends away in south and mid-Wales, Somerset and Gloucestershire. We have also cycled in Ireland and have had members travel to France and Spain for extended trips.

We hold club rides within Pembrokeshire once a fortnight, on Sunday mornings starting at 10 o'clock. Newcomers and non CTC members are welcome.  Non CTC members are allowed to ride with us on three occasions before deciding whether to join the CTC to allow them to continue to ride with the Pembrokeshire Freewheelers.
